Medical marijuana dispensaries In LA are cleared to reopen after the city council repealed the ban on storefront dispensaries.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The city council had a tough decision today, whether to rescind the city ordinance or to let voters decide the issue in March. Rather than continue a fight, the council rescinded the ordinance.

In addition to permitting dispensaries to openly operate, the ordinance also allows small groups of people to possess and share small amounts.

Several activists say that marijuana helps them cope with the symptoms of various illnesses and the effects of procedures such as chemotherapy. Opponents say of medical marijuana say that the loose public policy approach is tantamount to legalizing drugs and criminal activity.
