Nakoula after his arrest by sheriff's deputies for allegedly violating his probation.
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula will go before a judge today to determine if he violated his probation for a 2010 bank fraud conviction. If found guilty, he could be returned to prison.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Nakoula's probation bans him from accessing the internet. Nakoula is suspected of violating his probation because an anti-Muslim film created by him appeared on YouTube.

That film, "The Innocence of Muslims" depicts the Islamic prophet Mohammed in a critical manner and sparked outrage in the Muslim world in September.

Advocates for Nakoula say the violation is simply a means of punishing him for exercising his free speech in a manner which raised anger in the Muslim world.

If convicted, Nakoula could face two years in prison.
